how to get webpage data without IE8

i not clearly, still use (windows7) vb6(sp6) + ie8 (webbrowser control), to get that webpage data.
but if that website not support ie8 and root cert, only accept Firefox, is it possible to get webpage via firefox?
or need use 2008,2012,2012 that .net to rewrite it?
